For RE:WARM 009 we are very excited to present a brand new compilation series called “HOME”.

Over the last year throughout the pandemic it’s enabled all of us to take a step back and reflect on the environment that truly encompasses us all day to day. With those multiple pause buttons on life that were lockdowns the real beauty of nature and the soundscape around us came to the forefront and shone through as daily life for all stopped.

“HOME” is the soundtrack to what is on our doorsteps and when we use our eyes and ears to stop and dive into this world. The first compilation in the series has been tirelessly pieced together over the last year by Warm’s very own, Ali Tillett. With the majority of the business on pause Ali took the chance to immerse himself in bringing together his passion for music, nature and art.

Musically the compilation features 14 tracks from artists such as Âme, Fug, Turtle, As One, World of Apples, Crack’d Man, Coyote, Bobby Lee, Natural Calamity and many more. The majority of the tracks are exclusive and have been specially made for the compilation and are linked to specific habitats in the local area in Dorset such as Heathland/Moorland, Beach/Cliffs, Harbour/Estuary and Forest/Woodland.

To immerse the listener even further into the soundscape, critically acclaimed sound and field recording artist, Gary Moore of Springwatch/Autumnwatch fame has been involved to help bring nature even further to the ears. Intertwined between the music are field recordings specific to the area and each habitat whether it be the sound of the ships horn in Poole harbour, the avocets on the scrape, the tawny owl in the woodland to the Puffins on the ledges of cliffs.

For the release, Gareth Fuller a fabulous artist who previously lived in Dorset has kindly allowed one of his previous artworks to become the centrepiece for the compilation. A truly wonderful piece of art that encapsulates everything about the area Ali resides and enables an added dimension to the immersive experience the listener we hope can relate to as they sit back and listen.
