Raised in the coastal, industrial Australian town of Newcastle (better known as the Steel City), Loods is an understated character with a fun, raw take on dance music.
The last two years have seen Loods go from strength to strength. 2018 began with a relocation to London, before the release of two sell-out records on longtime friend Mall Grab’s Steel City Dance Discs label, a Boiler Room set at London’s iconic Southbank Centre, and mixes for Rinse FM, NTS, Netil Radio and Triple J, amid touring extensively throughout the UK and Europe.
2019 saw the release of another sell-out Steel City Dance Discs EP, as well as summer anthem ‘Walking Away’ on Classic Music Company, which earned Annie Mac’s ‘Hottest Record’ and regular rotation on BBC Radio 1.
With no sign of slowing down, Loods has an arsenal of releases loaded for the next 12 months, including the launch of his own label, and will certainly be one to watch through 2019 and beyond.
